OSC - Patient Stories

Joan Ramsay Johnson

My name is Joan Ramsay Johnson and I would like to share my OSC story.

First, I called and spoke to Ashley to make the initial appointment. She faxed me all the forms to fill out so I would be ready the day of the appointment. Wonderful.

I arrived at OSC the afternoon of my appointment and had a very short wait in the comfortable waiting area.

The nurse called my name and I was taken to the x-ray department. The new x-ray techniques are so quick and easy. The x-ray tech. was friendly and explained everything to me about the x-ray images that were taken. I was in and out in no time.

Next I was shown to an examining room to wait for Dr. Haynes. Each room is decorated to represent a college sports team. Really fun!

While waiting for Dr. Haynes, I was able to see my x-rays on the computer screen. The wait was very short.

Dr. Haynes came in with his nurse. We talked while he looked at my x-rays. He was very detailed in his explanations to me as he diagnosed me with arthritis in the knee. He told me his plan of treatment and made his suggestions about what I could do during my daily activities to minimize discomfort. He asked to see me again in a couple months.

The whole experience was stress-free, informative, and actually fun. Nothing I would have ever expected from a visit to a doctor.

I was thrilled to learn the diagnosis on my knee was just arthritis and not something more serious. Knowing I have Dr. Haynes and OSC to treat any of my future needs is a real comfort to me.
