OSC - Patient Stories
Donna Laney
I had surgery on March 10, 2009 for a badly herniated disc in my spine;
an L5-S1 fusion (I believe that is what it was called anyway).
I just want to say that it is now almost 6 weeks out and I am walking,
which was not possible for the couple of agonizing months leading up to
my surgery.
What I, and my family went through, was both traumatic and memorable;
to have the MOM of the family out of commission (as well as out of a
job). My previous job had a 50 lb. lifting requirement and no
light duty available. As you can imagine that was not possible
when I could not even walk, or sit down to dinner with my family.
Slowly, I have been reassuming my role as MOM and doing some of the
things, I used to take so for granted in my life. This would not
have been possible were it not for the fact that
Dr. McFarland
possessed the ability to heal me.
I would like to encourage all of the people that are hesitant to have
back surgery due to your fear; or what you have heard from others about
it, to not be afraid. Do not let debilitating back pain ruin your
short time here. You can have your life back, if you are willing
to chance the cure. I have already recommended Dr. McFarland to
several people that I know are suffering with the same pain I had, my
message is simple...Do not let it win. Join
Dr. McFarland's team
and you will find the victory you need to continue an active life again.
Sincerely,
Donna Laney
