Testimonials – Richmond
Joseph Connors – Shoulder Surgery
Ten years ago, I had to have my left shoulder, biceps, and rotator cuff operated on and I went to Dr. Martin Coleman. Not knowing what to expect, he explained to me everything by telling me what was going to be done and how I needed to rehab after the surgery. Everything went as he said and my shoulder has never been better. At that time I lived in Newport News, VA and it was easy for me to see him.
Now, ten years later, I am living up in New Kent, VA, which is close to an hour away (from Newport News) and very close to Richmond. I needed to get my right shoulder operated on and I did not even hesitate to drive back down to Newport News and see Dr. Coleman. Again, he explained the entire procedure. I had my shoulder surgery in December of 2016.
It is now April 2017 and, after doing everything he told me to do, my shoulder is doing great. I can not thank him enough for the quality of life that he has given back to me. There are many Doctors in the area but if anyone asks me where to go, Orthopaedic & Spine Center and Dr. Coleman is where I would send them.
Lisa Jackson – Frozen Shoulder Syndrome
I was scheduled to have Rotator Cuff surgery on my right shoulder with Dr. Boyd Haynes in September of 2016. I chose another physician and I ended up with a frozen shoulder. I moved here, from Richmond VA in 2015, with fears from another doctor in Richmond, who performed a spinal surgery wrong and I had to have a life or death revision surgery. Dr. Boyd Haynes explained to me what to expect with the frozen shoulder as he smiled with his beautiful personality.
I saw him today January 27,2017 in regards to some issues with my left arm. Dr. Boyd Haynes is honest and trustworthy. The community respects him dearly. From this day forward, I have no doubt who one of my favorite orthopedic doctors with OSC will be and that is Dr. Boyd Haynes. My only regret is I did not get him to perform my Rotator Cuff surgery in September of 2016. I am sure I would not have ended up with frozen shoulder.
Hats off and Kudos to you Dr. Boyd Haynes!!!!!! You are an awesome doctor.
Lois Newman – Pain Management
I am 76, and was born in Washington, D.C., I was married to a retired doctor for 57 years, who practiced in Richmond, VA for 32 years. I have had lower back and leg pain off and on for 30 years.
Once, my husband and I went to Florida with some friends to play golf when it again struck me down. I had to be taken to AMTRAC by ambulance on a stretcher, passed through a window to a lower berth and then home by ambulance, but it would get better after a few days of rest. X-rays and scans didn’t show why I had it, and my neurologist said to stick with the bed rest program when necessary.
Last year, it hit again, but this time it didn’t respond to the usual regimen. I was referred to a “back pain specialist” by my internist, Dr. Mark Souther, and saw Dr. Jenny Andrus, who tried different medications by mouth and then 3 back injections, which didn’t help.
I was then told about a newer approach and was given a trial for a week with a temporary neurostimulator surgery to see if it worked. It did beautifully! The permanent implantation was then done and my life has been changed; now I have control over my pain without pills and am happy as a lark about it!
