Testimonials: - Dr. Jenny L. F. Andrus

Ben Poter – Lumbar Epidural Steroid Injections

After my knee surgery, I started having lower back pain ,which I have experienced in the past. So, again I went to see Dr. Snyder, still in 2013 , and after x-rays and an MRI, it was determined I had Spinal Stenosis, Spondylosis and Sciatica. I have had pinched nerve pain, but it was many years before this diagnosis. I didn’t want to go thru back surgery unless I had to, so my next step was to see Dr. Jenny Andrus to receive Epidurals on each side of my spine in the L-3 and L-4 area.

I went thru these Epidurals two or three times a year, until 2021, when the Epidurals no longer provided the pain relief I needed . Dr. Andrus is a very caring and excellent doctor. I would definitely recommend OSC and any of the doctors I saw during my eight year journey. I now consider OSC my one stop shop for joint pain.      Ben Poter

Jon-Betty King – Non-surgical Treatment for Knee Arthritis

Image of Dr. Boyd HaynesI have been Dr. Boyd Haynes’ patient since 03/2005. He has worked miracles numerous times.

The last was 4 injections of ORTHOVISC. It is a miracle drug. I still had issues after surgery, therapy and previous injections. My knee feels brand new. I feel like a new person. I RECOMMEND ORTHOVISC HIGHLY.

Dr. Haynes, Chris, Dr. Andrus, the Physical Therapy Team and all other staff members are THE BEST.

I GIVE THEM A 10+ STAR RATING.

Cathy Gumtow – Pain Management and Knee Replacement Surgery

image of Dr. Jenny AndrusImage of Dr. Boyd HaynesMy knees had been bone-on-bone for some time. I had tried gel and cortisone injections when I lived in Florida. Surgery worried me; the surgery itself, fear of uncontrolled pain, the rehab and the downtime. Dr. Jenny Andrus, Pain Management Specialist at OSC, provided another option: nerve blocks. These did give me temporary relief and the time I needed to come to grips with having knee replacement surgery.

Dr. Boyd Haynes, also with OSC, was totally prepared for my questions about knee replacement. I immediately felt more at ease about the surgery.  I did the recommended strengthening exercises prior to surgery. I know this helped me in rehab.

Both of my knee replacements were done as outpatient. Dr. Haynes’ post surgery orders provide for exceptional pain relief. The idea of standing up on a new knee 1-2 hours after surgery is unbelievable, but I did it and was comfortable!

The evening after surgery, Dr. Haynes called to check on me. I have never had a doctor do that…His office called the next day to check again!

I am still rehabbing the 2nd knee. But it is amazing to be able to get out of a chair, walk and stand for extended periods without pain. Now, I kick myself for waiting so long to have knee replacement.

I am forever grateful to Dr. Haynes, Dr. Andrus and the entire OSC team for their expertise and care.

May Horrocks – Pain Management

Dr. Jeffrey Carlson referred me to the OSC Pain Management Clinic and, having been there on a few occasions, I have filtered through most of the staff. Each and every time I have been there, it’s been a positive experience for me. All of the staff, from the reception area to the treatment areas, are professional, friendly and kind. The place is run like a well-oiled wheel.

Kim MacCartney – Prolotherapy for Thumb Arthritis

I like Dr. Jenny Andrus and her approach to fixing my joint problems.  She prescribed a brace for my knee after injections did not help and is treating the arthritis in my thumb joint. The prolotherapy on my right thumb joint appears to be working.

Barbara Summers – Epidural Steroid Injections, Cervical Discectomy Surgery & PT

I injured my neck 30 years ago and lived with pain and numbness in my left arm, hand and neck every day. I went to multiple doctors, to include two other orthopaedic offices, and no one offered any help or relief until I visited Orthopaedic and Spine Center.

My first visit with Dr. Jeffrey Carlson offered me hope, he immediately explained why I had the pain and numbness and explained what my options were. I had cervical spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease and an herniated nucleus pulposus.

I opted for cervical epidural injections with Dr. Jenny Andrus initially, as I feared having surgery. Dr. Andrus was wonderful and the injections helped for a while, just as Dr. Carlson explained.

After having the injections over a period of three years, I finally decided to talk with Dr. Carlson about surgery. He explained that, for relief of my diagnosis, I would require a cervical discectomy of my C 4-5 and C 5-6. He took the time to explain everything that I would experience and he eased my fears of having the surgery.

I had the surgery on December 6th, 2016, and immediately upon waking up from the surgery, the numbness in my left arm, hand, and neck was gone. I cannot remember the last time I had total feeling in my arm, hand and neck.

The pain that I experienced prior to the surgery was gone, Dr. Carlson was an angel. Dr. Carlson performing this surgery was the best decision I could have ever made, I feel like a new person. Prior to this surgery, I lived with pain every day of my life. I no longer have that pain. Thank you, Dr. Carlson!!! You are truly an awesome doctor and surgeon!!

After surgery, Dr. Carlson sent me to OSC Physical Therapy. I attended Physical Therapy for six weeks, under the care of Dr. Andrew Osowski and Fred Wintermantel. The Physical Therapy staff was awesome and I can now turn my neck and use my left arm fully again. Dr. Carlson and the OSC staff are wonderful.  I have recommended Dr. Carlson and OSC to many people and will continue to do so. Thank you again to Dr. Carlson and his staff, Dr. Andrus and her staff, and OSC Physical Therapy staff.

Linda Marks – Spinal Cord Stimulator for Pain Management

I have had back problems and pain for a long time. Sometimes the pain would be so bad, I could barely walk.  I saw Dr. Jeffrey Carlson at OSC and he diagnosed me with many different spine issues. We tried treating these problems conservatively, but I wasn’t getting better. As a result, I finally had to have three different fusion surgeries, one in my neck and two in my lower back, spaced a few years apart. The surgeries helped keep me going and able to work and Dr. Carlson did a great job.  However, I continued to have pain because surgery couldn’t fix everything that was wrong.  I was also having pain in my knees and all over my body.  Dr. Carlson referred me to Dr. Jenny Andrus who does Pain Management.

Dr. Andrus diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia and gave me medication which helped. She gave me an injection for my knee pain. However, I continued to have bad pain in my lower back which again was causing issues for me when I stood at work or tried to walk.  Dr. Andrus never gave up and continued to try different therapies to help me.  Finally, she suggested I try Spinal Cord Stimulation.  I agreed.

Dr. Carlson permanently implanted the Spinal Cord Stimulator on April 13th.  It has been amazing how it has really worked for me.  I would say my pain has been reduced by 75-80%.  I can now enjoy going outside again and being with my husband, as well as working without being in agony.  I am truly thankful to both Dr. Carlson and Dr. Andrus for helping me walk again without hurting.

Linda Marks.
