Dr. Martin Coleman has been treating me for years for bone spurs in both shoulders. My right arm finally got bad enough that we decided on surgery. So on March 19, 2021 Dr. Coleman performed surgery on my right shoulder. He found a bad bone spur, shredded tissue in the shoulder, two tears that were almost all the way through and, on top of that, had to remove part of my clavicle bone.
With the wonder surgery that Dr. Coleman performed and my dedication to recovery my shoulder is doing well. I never had one session of physical therapy. When I asked about it he said that if I did exactly what he told me to do I would not need any physical therapy and he was absolutely correct. The first three months were extremely critical to my recovery so I followed his instructions. Not using my arm, adding a little weight and mobility, and then more weight and mobility. I was totally surprised at 12 weeks when he told me he was ending our relationship. LOL
I now have no restrictions and am trying to use it more and gradually put more weight on it.
It is wonderful to be pain free except if I over do it and that goes away, The constant pain in finally gone and I am looking forward to getting my life back to normal.
If you are having shoulder issues, Dr. Coleman is the guy to see.
While playing golf, I noticed a recurring pain in my shoulder. It became more and more agonizing. I decided to see Dr. Martin Coleman and he ordered an MRI scan, where he found my already repaired right shoulder joint was deteriorated from arthritis . He informed me that the joint would would need a replacement. On March 9, I had the surgery.
It is now three months later and I have not had any pain since the 2nd day after surgery. I have strengthened the joint, now swing a golf club, and I’m cutting the grass around my bee hives. If you are hesitant about surgery, with Dr. Coleman, his staff and with physical therapy, you could have the same results. Please remember you are responsible to follow the Dr.’s directives and the prescribed physical therapy.
I had the best experience possible when having shoulder surgery several months ago. Dr. Martin Coleman did an exceptional job diagnosing my shoulder issue, and laid out a plan to fix the torn rotator cuff, including removing bone spurs. I had limited pain and discomfort after surgery, and healed quickly. Dr. Coleman’s release to physical therapy decision early contributed to a quick recovery. Within four months after surgery, I’m able to return to most physical activities. I’m very thankful for the quality care I received from Dr. Coleman at OSC. Thank you, OSC and Dr. Coleman.
I am very pleased with the results of my rotator cuff surgery – torn ligament – on February 12, 2021. I have good use of my arm and a minimum of pain. Dr. Martin Coleman’s instructions were very clear every step of the way and I appreciate the way he emphasized what needed to be done at each step. I encourage people to use Dr. Coleman.
I have seen several doctors at OSC over the years; most recently Dr. Martin Coleman. I was referred to him by Dr. Mark McFarland for shoulder surgery which was successfully completed. Dr. McFarland helped me with back surgeries and knee replacements. In the past, my mother saw Dr. Raj Sureja and we both felt the same about his services and knowledge.
Each experience with the Doctors at OSC has always worked out well. And any interaction with the staff there has only shown me very caring, informative and knowledgeable people.
I would highly recommend the Doctors at OSC – and in addition their support staff.
Thanks for making my surgeries a whole lot easier and with better results than they might have been.
I have been going to OSC for about four and a half years now and and have been seen by Drs. Mcfarland, Burrow, Carlson, and Sureja. It is because I have significant damage to my joints, my muscles, my shoulders, and my back.
Dr. Martin Coleman by far has been, no holds barred, hands down, blunt, to the point of what I needed to have done, and expedited getting it done for me, so I can be out of this this pain that I’m in. There was no mollycoddle, there was no dragging it out. He just said point blank “you need to have a shoulder surgery. Now don’t do this, but do that, and don’t do this, but do that, and don’t mess up my work!” Basically or he’s going to be pissed off at me, LOL.
All in all, my overall rating for Orthopedic and Spine Center is like a 4.5 out of 5 because they put up with all my idiosyncrasies that I come along with my pain and my problems and never once did I feel uncomfortable expressing my opinion or emotions concerning all my visits. They’re a good group of guys for sure!
If you need to have rotator cuff surgery I highly recommend Dr. Martin Coleman. I had surgery on Nov. 2, 2020. I had done my research and discovered that Dr. Coleman was the best shoulder surgeon on the Peninsula. After discussing the surgery with several of my friends that had already had rotator cuff surgery and researching the doctor they used, I knew I needed the best because “I don’t do pain” very well.
I made the right choice. I have had very little pain. The first month my shoulder/arm was a little sore, but very tolerable. I was amazed after hearing the horror stories of many of my friends’ experiences with other doctors. Trust me, if you do exactly what Dr. Coleman tells you to do, you will not have any problems. He’s very knowledgeable and cares about his patients. He’s a no nonsense type of doctor. But don’t let him fool you, he’s very kind, caring and will “break character” with a genuine smile once he sees your progress. He’s an amazing surgeon and I am forever grateful for his extraordinary care.
