About two years ago, my left knee was hurting and I was giving into it by limping and putting most of my weight on my right knee. I was referred to Dr. Boyd Haynes by a friend. He ordered an MRI and found that I had a torn meniscus and loose body in my knee causing the pain. Dr. Haynes reputation is not to be so quick for surgery without trying all other alternatives. I was told that if cortisone shots corrected the problem and lasted three to six months, then that would the best treatment. I had three shots and the last one only lasted only two weeks.
I went back to Dr. Haynes to discuss arthroscopic surgery to repair the meniscus and to clean out the loose body (arthritis). I was so well informed by Dr. Boyd Haynes and his staff about what was being done, that I felt very confident about my decision to go forward. I so trust the the care I was given, I had no apprehensions of having the surgery done.
On January 17th, I had the procedure. I found that giving in to the problems of the left knee was actually causing pain in my right knee. I now walk totally normal, including up and down stairs. As a result, I am so very satisfied. Thank you for improving the quality of my mobility. I think I will be exercising more now that I have the ability to do so without pain.
