Neuropathic Pain, such as Peripheral Neuropathy

Neuropathic pain is a complex state of chronic pain. Nerve fibers may be injured or damaged and therefore will send incorrect signals to other pain centers within the body. This produces symptoms like tingling, numbness, shooting and burning pain. The most common type of neuropathic pain is diabetic neuropathy, which is caused by high sugar levels and causes nerve damage in the legs and feet.
