I had a spinal (multi level) fusion in late April. The journey to that point mirrors many of the others sharing here- heat, pt and dry needling, pain management injections. All worked a few days then did not.
A friend, who happened to have a friend who had visited Dr Carlson, had the fusion surgery. She mentioned this woman’s story and how happy she was with the results.
Until that point I just assumed little could really be done and that it was a matter of managing the pain. In fact was told that I needed to build up my bone strength before I could even consider any sort of surgery. Who knew how long that would take?
I made the appointment with Dr Carlson and two weeks later I was having the surgery that actually gave me my life back.
He took the time to read and view mri results and came in and showed me exactly what he would do, showing me on the mri exactly where the problem was and how it would be fixed. Not only was that helpful – seeing what was on the mri right in front of me he took away the anxiety and fear of the process.
I could not be happier.
