After a long history with on and off lower back pain, the last year had been a nightmare of daily nerve pain running through my left hip and leg. Every step was painful. Through Dr. Carlson, I tried PT and a back injection, but the pain never let up. He ordered an MRI and this confirmed my lumbar spine was the cause. 6 weeks ago, he performed a spinal fusion and decompression. I can honestly say, 6 weeks out, it was life changing. While I am still healing from the surgery, I am walking pain free. I can’t even express the relief of that. I followed my post op instructions very carefully. I walked and walked. First with a walker, then a cane and now just like a healthy person! It’s not about how fast, just walk. I’m 58 years old and degenerative changes and bad body mechanics just took a toll. I’m so appreciative to Dr. Carlson and his team for the excellent care.
