I fell down a flight of steps while visiting my daughter in Hawaii 6 years ago. Upon my return, I set up an appointment with Dr. Boyd Haynes because he did my rotator cuff surgery previously. After consulting with Dr. Haynes, he advised me that I had a ruptured patella tendon of the left knee and it would require surgery to repair. This did not make me happy!!
We have 9 grandchildren and they all “play” something so, I really needed to get this fixed and get my mobility back !! The surgery went well and Dr. Haynes put me back together. I felt the surgery was a breeze but, the rehab part was hard work. A surgeon can only do so much and then it is up to the PATIENT to put in the WORK! PT at Dr. Haynes office gave me all the help and encouragement I needed.
I DID THE WORK and in 6 months, I was running 2 to 3 miles every other day at our sports complex here, in York County. Now, I ride my bike to the sports complex, run 45 minutes and ride my bike back home 3 days a week. I will be running a 5 K in May.
Dr. Haynes and his staff are the real deal. My injury was severe but, thanks to a great surgeon and his staff, I can run, bike, swim, kayak, etc. I am now 68 years old and enjoy being VERY ACTIVE.
I was blessed to know and have such caring, professional people, all doing their part to make me whole again. Dr.Boyd Haynes and OSC, thank you all so very much.
