After “trying” to manage pain in my left hip for over a year, I finally went to an Ortho doctor for relief. I won’t disclose the doctor’s name, but after a single cortisone shot which did nothing and a very blunt “you need to face the fact that you need hip replacement,” I decided to seek out a second opinion….and boy am I glad I did! After my first visit with Dr. Burrow, I knew I had come to the right place. He showed genuine concern about my pain and provided me with detailed information on my options; I could try steroid injections which would alleviate the pain for some period of time or I could opt to have hip replacement surgery (knowing I would ultimately need surgery, but the choice was mine on when). I decided to try the injections and they actually worked really well for about 2 years (receiving an injection every 3 months), but then they stopped working, so I knew it was time for surgery. Now, just a little over a month later, I can say that I wish I had done it sooner. I am pain free and back to where I was long before my hip started hurting. Dr. Burrow and his team are wonderful and made me feel at ease through the entire process. Everyone I meet now, I tell them if they ever have to have hip replacement surgery, schedule an appointment with Dr. Burrow and they will receive the best care possible!
